February 2008
Dear Friends,
Origamido Studio is in transition. The show at the Fitchburg Art Museum has now closed, and the art is being packed. We are accepting appointments for teaching at schools, libraries, museums, company functions and colleges. We will not have regular hours, but we have been holding special, small sessions at our home by appointment only. Please call 978.372.1215 to schedule a class. Remember that we are primarily a commercial design studio, and we are biding the time in transition by authoring new books, taping more video lessons, and planning new installations. Some of the art from the Fitchburg show is for sale. Just call if you are interested in owning your own LaFosse origami piece for wall or pedestal.
We will of course continue to offer our books, DVD videos and papers via our web product listings, and our video downloads at www.origamiondemand.com Learn to fold for the price of a song! Most downloads are only $0.99 each. We do expect to expand our offerings, so check back often during the upcoming months.
Other news:
We realize that only a small fraction of our customers have had a chance to visit our storefront/gallery/classroom in the past 11 years, but we hope those of you that did, fully enjoyed the unique aspects of what Origamido Studio became in those years. We completed 55 publications and dozens of installations during our tenure here. We created an interesting Arts District, and gave Haverhill the best years of our lives (so far). We are very excited to announce that we plan to open an origami art gallery in Hawaii sometime in 2008. Both Michael and I are SCUBA divers, and we can't wait to live in a place so rich with exotic wildlife and natural beauty. All artists deserve a change of scenery, and we know we will be refreshed and invigorated by the Pacific Paradise.
